Apple Airpods Pro vs Airpod 2 vs Airpods: Price
With a wireless standard charging case as a feature, The Apple AirPods Pro costs $249/£249.
Whereas The Apple AirPods 2 has only standard case comes at a price of $159/£159. For the wireless charging case, the price jumps to $199/£199. The wireless charging case can also be bought separately for $79/£79.
The old Apple AirPods cost the same as its second generation ie $159/£159 when they launched originally. Now Apple does not sell the old model but you may find it at some places at cheaper prices.
Briefing the whole difference to a single line I would say The “Apple AirPods Pro” adds noise cancellation, IPX4 water-resistance, and a better customizable fit with high prices. In contrast to this, Apple’s classic AirPods cost lesser and have a good battery life than the Pro version, but no noise cancellation is here.
Below is the detailed difference in tabular form:
|AirPods Pro||AirPods 2|
|Battery lasts for||4.5 hours||5 hours|
|Siri connection||Voice-activated or double-tap||Voice-activated or double-tap|
|Charging case||Wireless charging case||Optional wireless charging case|
|System requirements||iOS 13.2 or higher||iOS 12.2 or higher|
|watchOS system requirements||watchOS 6.1 or later||watchOS 5.2 or later|
|macOS system requirements||macOS Catalina 10.15.1||macOS 10.14.4 or later|
|Apple TV support||Yes||Yes|
Noise cancellation is a jawdropping feature added to the new version “Apple Airpod Pro”. The feature is available with any pair of headphones. Active noise cancellation enables the headphones to fades or removes the background noise around you. Top off the fact that the new AirPods Pro features a new design with silicone ear tips, the AirPods Pro are likely going to sound significantly better than the non-pro version.
